Established in April of 2006, the Hokkaido Association for Bio Business is comprised of Hokkaido-based member firms in the bio industry that possess a variety of specialized expertise.
The Association works toward solving the various problems facing the industry, and strives to enhance the activities and proficiency of member firms through its various programs. It brings a variety of requests and proposals to the national and local government for the vitalization and development of Hokkaido's bio industry as a whole.
Main Projects
Hokkaido firms in the bio industry gather together to research, discuss, and work towards solving the urgent problems facing the world today, and thereby aim to further advance the bio industry of Hokkaido.
- Conduct studies on development of the bio industry market and research environment,and provide technology trend and other information
- Make proposals from the bio industry to the local government, universities and otherrelated institutions and recommend specific actions.
- Support trade shows and other opportunities for member firms to introduce and markettheir products, and conduct training and seminars to contribute to stronger anagement foundations of member firms.
Group Administration
- The Board of Directors is comprised of directors chosen from amongst the founders and other candidates.
- Project planning, implementation and other administration is lead by the "Project Planning and Operating Committee" comprised of members selected by member firms.
- Everyday activities are conducted by the secretariat located within the Northern Advancement Center for Science and Technology (earnings reports and other accounting work is consigned to external firms).
